About Me

  1. Life is about reading, writing, creating & also geeking out over a good system and spreadsheets.
  1. My friends and family have always worried I am going to become a nun. I like to keep (little to no) things simple. I read spiritual biographies like I drink water. The spiritual is personal is political is collective.
  1. Life needs to be lived on your terms. I’ve done the “marriage and respectable job thing” – I was not happy in either of them.
  1. I’ve worked in for-profit, non-profit, small, medium, large companies in all the places. Everyone makes up their own rules for business, finances and life. It frustrated me, until it set me free.
  1. I like to learn how to teach things (Zumba, Yoga, Coaching, etc.) so I can use them in unconventional and practical ways. (See my Theatre Production degree used for Business Operations for the last 20 years.)
  1. I became an entrepreneur because I worked for one right out of college. It changes the way you see the world and every business/industry around you.
  1. Solitude and Silence (true REST) will lead you home – there is no process or procedure that can do what silence and solitude does.
  1. I’ve lived through some tough stuff: an awful divorce, paying back tens of thousands of dollars of debt (mine or his depending on who you asked) and filing for bankruptcy. They all shattered me at the time. Now I’m proud of how I handled things.
  1. Organizing and planning brings me joy. I love planning meals and teas, and looking at recipes. I can get lost in my head and these things remind me, ground me back to the miracles around me.
  1.  I sold and supported tablet computers back before iPads and touchscreens existed. Technology is amazing and I love to use it. But there is some crazy stuff out there. I find that sometimes I (and my life) get along better without the latest and greatest (or any) technology.
